About Lani Tucker ...

     I graduated from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (Registration Number MFTI 56710) with the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences and am supervised by Wendy Ludecke Bencosme, PhD, LMFT (License Number MFT 38430). I am a member of CAMFT (California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists) and CALAPT (California Association for Play Therapy).

     I have experience as a school counselor using play therapy techniques with elementary school children and their families. I also have an interest in working with individuals suffering from anxiety and/or depression.

     My master's thesis explored the myth of Echo who could not speak with her own voice but only echoed those around her. My paper reflected my own personal journey toward learning to speak from an authentic, internal voice rather than being dependent upon or constantly swayed by the attitudes and opinions of others. I have a passion for helping people discover and live from an authentic place within themselves. For me, that is the heart of good counseling and encompasses the whole person: body, mind and soul.
