Currently seeking MFT Interns and Trainees
MFT Interns/Trainees:
In our prospective trainees/interns we look, not for perfection or experience, but for a genuine interest in learning and discovery. During the interview process, we attempt to determine your readiness to participate in our program by looking for the following:
Professional and dedicated to working in the field with a variety of clients
The ability to take constructive criticism.
The desire to hold a caseload of at least 5 clients a week (even if that means working some weekends)
Reasonably able to be aware of and willing to take responsibility for your work with clients.
A desire to participate in activities Crossroads Community Counseling sponsors as well as other pertinent activities contributing to the field
Crossroads Community Counseling offers everything you will need to get your practice going including but not limited to the following:

You will be trained towards being able to handle yourself in a private practice setting.
You will learn to sign up for rooms, negotiate fees for Crossroads, maintain client files, assess and screen clients,
and you will learn about Managed Care as well as fee for service practices. Interns in this program will learn how to
maintain clients as well as how to market themselves within the community.
Crossroads Community Counseling will provide continued training and support in this process
Eligibility
You are eligible for the program if you meet the following requirements:
Graduation from or current enrollment in a master's degree program leading to licensure.
Ready to begin to learn how to acquire clients.
Ready to devote at least 5 hours weekly to seeing clients.
Maintenance of a mal-practice insurance policy.
Completion of the enrollment process.
Supervision
This agency meets all requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Trainers and supervisors are qualified to supervise 3000 MFT intern hours, and 1000 associate Clinical Social Worker hours.
BBS requires different ratios of supervision hours to client hours for trainees, interns, and social work associates. Keep up to date on the ratio that applies to you.
Supervision hours are signed off weekly on the form provided by BBS. Hours will not be signed off during the weeks you miss supervision. Please bring your summary forms with you to supervision. Counseling hours will be signed off for the hours you gained in the week previous to your supervision session. Hours must be signed off weekly. You will receive both individual and group supervision opportunities.
Malpractice
Although Crossroads Community Counseling carries its own professional and premise liability policies, you must also carry a current malpractice policy while in this program.
Future Plans
As Crossroads Community Counseling continues to grow we plan to offer free to our associates, interns and trainees ongoing seminars and training to help facilitate growth in your private practice as well as obtain continuing education credit for licensure.
